BeHeld Couples Informed Consent
These are the details of what you can expect from us as your body workers and intimacy guides and what we'll expect from you as our clients.
BeHeld: To be both dearly held and deeply seen.
Things to Know about our Body Work:
Keera's body work mixes energy work with feel-good touch to remove blockages, improve circulation, release tension, and improve feelings of well-being and connection. She uses light to medium pressure and avoids deep tissue work. This modality is meant to be a nurturing, decadent experience rather than overly painful.
She is not a licensed massage therapist. She's worked with massage therapists and an eastern healing practitioner, and is Reiki III/Master level certified. She also has trauma-conscious training through yoga teacher, cuddle therapy, and sacred counsel training. Her type of work is energy based and incorporates touch to soothe the body.
Adam is a licensed massage therapist through Lake Superior College. He has taken additional courses in scar work and cupping. His style can be more pinpointed toward problem areas, and he's able to provide deep pressure.
You are welcome to be anywhere from fully dressed to fully unclothed. We understand that bodies do bodily things such as pass gas, need to adjust position, release emotions, or get erections, so there’s no need to feel embarrassed if things like that occur. we welcome all bodies, and things like body hair, skin tags, acne, etc are all completely fine.
We can talk or be in silence. We are an accepting, non-judgmental space, so if you need to talk about anything, we're happy to be caring listeners. You're also welcome to talk to each other about anything and everything. Unless we think you’ll be a danger to yourself or others, sessions are completely confidential. To protect that confidentiality, if we run into you out in the wild, we'll follow your lead. If you don't engage, we'll move along as if we don't know each other. If you come up and say hi, we'll be happy to say hi back and won't declare how we know you to anyone you may be with unless you bring it up first.
You are in control of the session. For body work sessions, we tend to work on neck, shoulders, back, glutes, back of legs, feet, ears, face, chest, and front of legs. If you have any areas you do not want worked on, please let us know, and we'll be happy to adjust to your needs.
We do my best work when we feel safe and respected. This lets us lower our guards and deeply sink into the work. We like to be treated like health care providers. This means that your hands stay to yourself and that you treat us as you would a respectable doctor or chiropractor. Please keep compliments about our bodies or any sexual desires you may have about us to yourself.
If we get groped, hear about sexual desires about us, or experience anything else that feels too sexual toward us, I will address it. If it continues, we will stop the session and charge for the full time.
Things to Know about our Guided Intimacy Sessions:
Guided intimacy sessions, including Primal Tantra, are experiential and educational offerings intended to support connection, communication, embodiment, sensuality, and intimacy between partners. Sessions may include practices such as breathwork, meditation, eye gazing, movement, ritual, energy work, consent exercises, partner touch, massage, somatic experiencing, or other guided connection practices.
These sessions may explore sensual or erotic energy, but they are not sex therapy or sexual services. We participate as guides, facilitators, and educators and do not engage sexually with clients.
Clients are welcome to be affectionate and sensual with one another within the boundaries of the session. Kissing, cuddling, massage, sensual movement, and consensual touch between partners may be welcome. Genitals and buttocks must remain covered, and sexual intercourse, oral sex, masturbation, genital stimulation, and other overt sexual activity are not permitted during sessions.
You are always in charge of your participation. Either partner may decline, modify, pause, or stop an exercise at any time.
We welcome honest conversation about intimacy, sexuality, desire, fantasies, kink/BDSM, relationship structures, gender, orientation, spiritual practices, challenges, curiosities, or other aspects of your relationship. We are familiar with a wide range of lifestyles and experiences, and our intention is to offer a compassionate, sex-positive, and nonjudgmental space. You do not need to worry about shocking or offending us by sharing honestly.
Guided intimacy work can sometimes bring up unexpected emotions, vulnerability, arousal, memories, or differences between partners. All participation is voluntary, and both partners remain responsible for communicating and respecting one another's ongoing consent and boundaries.
Liability:
While we will do everything in my power to provide a safe enough space, you are responsible for your body, belongings, and mental health. Please let us know if you have any health conditions. It is a good idea to consult your doctor to see if body work is right for you. Body work is generally safe, but if you have things like circulation issues or spinal issues, problems may occur.
You also agree that if you ingest any substances, you take on all responsibility for any effects you may experience. This includes if you decide to drive afterward. You also understand that any discussion on substances is merely for educational and harm reduction purposes only.
