BeHeld Workshop Informed Consent

These are the details of what you can expect from me as your guide and what I’ll expect from you as my workshop participant.

BeHeld: To be both dearly held and deeply seen.

How Workshops Work:

BeHeld's workshops involve sharing information I've gathered from credible books, classes, podcasts, life, and long form interviews. Participants are welcome to take care of their bodies, be comfy, and ask questions. We'll have times for discussion in the main group and may have break out groups that let others converse in small groups.

Things to Know:

While I have a BS in psychology and trauma-conscious certifications through yoga teacher training and cuddle therapy training, and I am a certified Sacred Counsel Guide, I work outside the medical model and am not a licensed psychotherapist, counselor, or educator.

My job is to share knowledge in an invitational way so that participants can take away what works for them.

What You May Experience:

While I will do everything in my power to provide a safe enough space, workshops could bring up complicated feelings. We might go into topics that participants have baggage or trauma around.

To best support yourself, please make it a practice to tune into yourself and listen to what your bodymind needs. You are welcome to take breaks as needed.

Respect:
As a participant, I ask that you help care for the shared container. This includes honoring consent and boundaries, being mindful of how your presence affects others, and supporting accessibility so folks can participate comfortably. Please arrive with minimal strong scents (including smoke or heavy fragrances) as some attendees have sensitivities that can be triggered even at a distance. We also ask for awareness around noise, personal space, and side conversations. This practice is rooted in non-judgment, self-responsibility, and care for the whole. If something feels off or unworkable, you’re always welcome to step out, modify, or reach out rather than pushing through discomfort.

Notes:

In my workshops, I encourage an uplifting and encouraging environment. For any who attend these workshops, you agree to keep everything confidential, own your own feelings, allow for adequate sharing of voices in the space, speak one at a time, practice accountability for your own experiences, and respect others.

I take Venmo (@keerajoel), CashApp(@keerajoel), Paypal (hello@keerajoel.com), checks written out to BeHeld, payment through this site, or preferably cash at the start of the session or beforehand.

We start promptly at the start time, but you're welcome to come in later if you're held up or have a scheduling issue.

Unless I think you are likely to hurt yourself or others, sessions are 100% confidential. To protect that confidentiality, if I run into you out in the wild, I'll follow your lead. If you don't engage, I'll move along as if we don't know each other. If you come up and say hi, I'll be happy to say hi back and won't declare how I know you to anyone you may be with unless you bring it up first.

For communication, please reach out to me via text (218.409.6010) or email (hello@keerajoel.com).

There is metered parking from 8:00 AM -5:30 PM on weekdays on the street, but there may be a spot or two of unpaved, free parking directly behind the building above the alley. Some have had luck using the lot across from the alley.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I look forward to seeing you!

Oh hai. I love you. Just thought I'd let you know.
